Woody Allen's Cafe Society will Open Cannes Film Festival

Woody Allen's latest work, Cafe Society is the film that will open this year's Cannes Film Festival.

The film starring Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg and Steve Carell tell the story "of a young man who arrives in Hollywood during the 1930s hoping to work in the film industry, fall in love, and finds himself swept up in the vibrant cafe society that defined the spirit of the age".

Cafe Society however, will screen out of competition at this year's event.

Woody Allen is now the first and only director to have three opening night movies selected for Cannes Film Festival.

Cannes Film Festival will run from May 11 to 22, 2016.
